Title: "From writing grants to making grants: my journey from research to grant management"
Speaker: Dr. Kerstin Kinkelin, Vaccine Research Programme Manager' at Blood Cancer UK
Kerstin worked as a student with Elisa Izaurralde and did her Diploma thesis with Fulvia Bono at the MPI Tuebingen. She then joined the IMPRS in Munich for her PhD, and moved to London for a postdoc at the Francis Crick Institute. Since 2017, she has worked in research management, most recently with a focus on research funding and grants management. During her talk, Kerstin will give an insight into the career transition from research to research management, the skills it takes to succeed, and the challenges and opportunities of combining family and career.
The presentation will be followed by an interactive Q&A-session.
