The International Max Planck Research School IMPRS “From Molecules to Organisms” is a collaboration between the Max Planck Institute for Biology Tübingen, the Friedrich Miescher Laboratory of the Max Planck Society and the Eberhard Karls University in Tübingen, Germany.

The International Max Planck Research School (IMPRS) “From Molecules to Organisms” provides excellent interdisciplinary training in structural, molecular, cellular, and developmental biology, bioinformatics, genomics, and evolutionary biology.

We invest in the next generation of scientists who will gain expertise and skills to study complex biological processes that bridge the gap between molecules and living organisms.

Our program transcends traditional life science disciplines, combining pioneering methodologies and scientific approaches from various fields to address research questions that require an interdisciplinary approach.

Your profile

You are a highly qualified student from any nationality and:

  • You hold, or expect to hold, a Masters (or Diplom) in Natural or Computer Science by the PhD start date.
  • Your interests, skills and knowledge match well with your proposed area of doctoral research. 
  • You have excellent written and spoken English.
  • You are highly motivated.
